I get a little obsessed about gadgets, travel toys and self-organisation. Having broken my shoulder bag again this week I began the frustrating search for a new travel partner. It’s hard to explain what I’m looking for except that I know it when I see it. Most US travel shops sell a limited range of black carry-ons and a comprehensive range of Foddors guides. Look at every baggage carrousel and ask yourself why there is little style in the art of travel. Why does everyone buy a black case? (Except me.)
Hurrah, then, when a google revealed that one of the rare Flight 001 stores is right here in San Francisco. A couple of years ago I discovered their New York branch down in the Village and was in trip planning heaven. There’s a new branch recently opened in Los Angeles. But that, sadly is the limit of their empire.
Take a look at the Flight 001 website to find various travellers’ gems from document wallets through unbreakable photo frames to unmatched luggage. It can be a bit Wallpaper* but don’t let that stop you popping in.
