365: The things we learn
Unisex changing rooms + Japanese t-shirt store = new insights into how others live.
365: Out West
Inner West, to be fair.
365: QM2
I’m not the only one on vacation in Sydney – the Queen Mary 2’s brought another 2,600 tourists to town. Slightly perplexing is the number of people who turn out on Lady Mac’s Chairto just to… stare at it.
365: Who are you calling a donut?
I’m here to do nothing except eat, drink and relax; and Rozelle’s a bloody good place to do it. Flat white and a donut, a great way to start the day.
365: You have arrived
Ah, Australia. There’s so much I could say, but this might sum up the difference between us and them.
365: Night flight
An hour or two’s uncomfortable napping before touching down in Sydney.
365: Bangkok Airport
Half way there and a chance to top up on spicy fishcakes in the Qantas Club before the final slog to Sydney.
Bangkok’s new airport (new, at least, since I was last there) has a similar ovular structure to Dubai Terminal 3 but with none of the gaudiness. This is how modern airport architecture should be: machine-like.
365: The view from my seat
For the next 26 or more hours. It’s first class behind that curtain. My seat’s not a bed. I feel lost, and no longer special.
365: Airplane mode for an airplane bore
Tomorrow, finally, on holiday to Australia and another excuse to fiddle with the new phone.
365: Meanwhile…
Dear reader,
It’s been a shocking length of time since I last uploaded anything through a combination of disorganisation and idleness. However the vague 365 picture project has continued, and the past six months of pictures will soon fill these pages. Stay tuned and, if disinterested, the ‘365′ in the title should give you sufficient warning to stay away.
Back and at it
Joel
